ATHENS — Tennessee posted a 25-5 win over Georgia on Saturday in front of a Foley Field crowd of 2,365.

The Volunteers (26-21, 10-13 SEC) pounded out 28 hits including six home runs as the Bulldogs fell to 13-32 overall and 3-18 in the SEC.

“They were doing everything and scoring runs with hits rather than walks,” said Georgia coach David Perno. “We’re treading in a tough spot right now because we have to start making moves for next year without taking opportunities away from our seniors.”

The series concludes at 2:06 p.m. today and CSS will televise the contest.

Georgia will start senior left-hander and Chestatee High graduate Alex McRee (0-1, 6.33 ERA).
