Gainesville's Ryan Hogan defends title at Rudolph Junior Classic

Gainesville High’s Ryan Hogan is the Rudolph Junior Classic champion for the second-straight year after pulling off a stellar finish on the final day of play Tuesday in Gainesville.

The Red Elephant shot a final-round 74 (147) to tie Atlanta’s Wesley Heston for the lead, then birdied the first hole of sudden death, defending his title in the boys’ 16-17 age bracket.

In the boys’ 14-15 group, Sam Patterson was another Red Elephant to finish strong with a final-round 78 (151) for a two-shot victory over Atlanta’s Frederick Bruce. Flowery Branch’s Ryan Davidson shot a final-round 84 (161) for third. 

Caroline Martin (Jefferson) took third in the girls division.
