G-Braves beat Charlotte by one

The Gwinnett Braves defeated the Charlotte Knights 5-4 on Saturday night in Fort Mill, SC.

Reid Gorecki, Chris Burke and Van Pope all had a pair of hits in the win. Antonio Perez tripled and stole home while Alvin Colina smacked a two-run home run, his third of the season. Wes Timmons extended his on-base streak to 35 games with his seventh-inning walk.

Gwinnett starter Todd Redmond allowed just two earned runs in seven-strong innings. Redmond struck out six batters for his fifth win of the season.

Gwinnett and Charlotte will wrap-up the three-game series at 12:15 p.m. today.
