Local golf: Hollobaugh takes 1st at CGC event

The Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Association played a Par 4 Count Individual Low Gross, Low Net Event on June 28 at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.

Ann Hollobaugh took first place in low gross, while Beulah Land took second place. First Place in Low Net was won by Alice Paris and second place was tie between Sue Cronmiller and Nora Gleason.

Closest to the pin winners were Nora Remmlinger (No.3) and Nancy Negley (No.17).

The CLGA also met Tuesday to play a blind 9. Sue Cronmiller won the low gross and Violet Reynolds won low net.
Nora Gleason (No. 3) and Carolyn Palmer (No. 17) won cloest to the pin.

CMGA: The Chatahoochee Mens Golf Association played a two best ball, aggregated net strokes game Wednesday at the Chattahooche Country Club.

Coming in first place were Dick Bachman, A. J. Kiker, Jim Griffin and John Beem.

Don Sorrell, Harry Barnett, Bob Layne and Bill Kinser took second place,

Butch Teston, Ben Brooks, Richard McClure and Gary Palmer came in third place.

Closest to the pin winners were Rolf Legbandt (Nos. 3 and 17), J,B. Johnston (No. 5), and Bill Ingram (No. 12).

Wednesday Dogfight: A two best ball net was played Wednesday at the Chicopee Woods Golf Course. The team of Cleve Sexton, Roger Stapp, and Terry Clegg came in first place shooting 17 under par.

Tommy Calhoun, Don Schrum, and Dan Arthurs tied with Duane Roberts, Jerry Horton, Lou Vega for second place with score of 15 under par.

Individual net scores were also kept. Vega shot a 66 to take first. He was followed by Arthurs, who was only one stroke off of the lead. Clegg and Joe Roberts tide for third place, both shooting a 69.
