Local golf: 3 win event at Reunion

Bob Seebeck, Mike Reiland and Bill Wagner teamed up to take first place at the Reunion Country Club par-3 event last Wednesday at Reunion Golf Club in Braselton.

Ted Sawyer, Gene Cronic, Lowell Twining and Nels Sylthe came in second in the match, and John Baileys, Jack Ofsharick, Bob Patterson and Larry Yates took third.

Closest to the pin winners were Twining (No. 7) and Lewis Brown (No. 17).

LUNA’S TUESDAY: Stan Davidson Jr, Blake Nix, Doug Van and Tom Sexton finished in first place in the Luna’s Tuesday golf group’s match last week at Scales Country Club in Homer.

Second place went to the team of Larry Cleek, Randy Gordy, Don Rogers and Joe Roberts. Bud Black, Gene Weschler, Larry Miller and Cleve Brown came in third. Closest to the pin winners were Black (No. 2), Roberts (No. 5) and Van (No. 13 and No. 17).

DOGFIGHT: Tom Bolton, Henry Komoto, Bob Arendt and Darryl Pinner won the Wednesday dogfight last week at Chicopee Woods Golf Course.

Tommy Calhoun, Dan Arthurs, Vince Jonté and Yoshi took second place. Pinner finished first overall individually, followed by Don Schrum in second and Jim Arendt in third.

CMGA: The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played its monthly individual flighted strokes competition on Wednesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.

Gene Weschler took first in the white flight, Herb Sckerl was second, and Larry Cohan placed third. In the gold first flight, Bill Adams finished in first place, Bill Sutton came in second, and Don Sorrell was third. Bill Holleman and Denny Momper tied for first place in the gold second flight, and Johnny Little took third.

Closest to the pin winners were Momper (No. 3), Harmon Smith (No. 5), Sorrell (No. 12) and Little (No. 17).

DPG: The Dedicated Players Group played matches on Monday and Wednesday last week at Chicopee Woods Golf Course.

On Monday, Steve Knowles finished in first place and Jim Julian came in second. Dennis Jones and Jerry Shell tied for third.

Bob Kidd and Shell tied for first on Wednesday, and Al Crego was third.
