Young Harris men fall to Brewton-Parker
Viterbo scores career-high 32 for Mountain Lions

YOUNG HARRIS — A furious rally fell short on Thursday night as the Young Harris College men’s basketball team nearly battled back from a 17-point deficit as Brewton-Parker held on for a 70-68 victory at the YHC Basketball Arena.

Steve Viterbo had a career night for the Mountain Lions (4-15) as he finished with a career-high 32 points, including draining six 3-pointers, while also pulling down a game-high 11 rebounds.

Bryson Robertson, who had nine boards, and Frank Adams had 11 points each as Young Harris was 20-for-54 shooting for 37 percent for the contest and was 15-of-31 in the second half for 48 percent.

The Mountain Lions had its largest lead of the first half at 15-10 after a Viterbo 3-pointer with 8:49 remaining, but back came the Barons as Brewton-Parker took a 21-20 advantage on a Gerald Kohn trey with 1:27 left.

Young Harris got two free throws by Viterbo with one second left in the half to take a 22-21 lead into the break.

The Barons opened the second half with a 23-5 run to take a 44-27 advantage with 12:20 left. But the Mountain Lions answered and used a 17-8 run to cut the margin to 52-44 after a Viterbo putback with 6:25 left.
