Chestatee graduate Parker Smith, now a member of the North Florida basketball team, poured in a school-record 46 points in a 75-66 victory Monday night against Mercer.

The majority of his points came off of 11 3-pointers, and he was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week by the league office Tuesday.

The 6-foot-3 junior guard accounted for 61 percent of his team’s scoring in Monday’s game. Smith set new single game records at North Florida for both points and 3-pointers made.

His point total was the highest by an Atlantic Sun player this year and the second most in an NCAA Division I game all season. Smith’s 11 three-pointers were the most in a Division I game this year and tied for the 15th-most in NCAA Division I history.

Smith’s performance helped the Ospreys earn a weekend sweep over conference rivals Kennesaw State and Mercer. Against Kennesaw State, Smith finished with 12 points and has now scored in double figures in his last six games.

The conference honor is the fourth weekly conference honor in Smith’s career and his second Player of the Week honor in the last three weeks. Smith earned a pair of Atlantic Sun Newcomer of the Week acknowledgments last season.
