The Brenau University basketball team defeated Belhaven College (Miss.) 81-49 on Saturday in Gainesville for its fifth consecutive victory to open the season.

This marks the first time in school history that the Golden Tigers (5-0) have started a season 5-0. Tania Khudiakova led Brenau with 20 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

Raven Crawford added 12 points, 10 rebounds and four assists for the Golden Tigers, and Nastia Minaeva chipped in 17 points and five assists. Those three players were a combined 20-28 from the field and the duo of Minaeva/Khudiakova went 8-12 from the 3-point line.

The game was never in doubt as Brenau opened up a 10-4 lead early and built it to 40-26 by halftime.
