Riverside lead slips away in 22-19 loss

Social Circle squeaked past Riverside Military Academy 22-19 on Friday night in Social Circle.

Leading 19-8 at halftime, the Eagles couldn't stop a third-quarter surge by Social Cirlce, giving up two scores in the quarter.

"We had them the whole game and just let it slip away," Riverside coach Chris Cotter said. "But that happens when you're young."

Tarvid Dukes led the Eagles with a 60-yard touchdown run and 10 tackles on defense.

Victor Salcido hit fields goals of 50 and 32 yards on the night for Riverside (0-5, 0-1 Region 8-A).

Mason Pope added 10 tackles for Riverside, which next visits Commerce at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
