In spite of rain and clouds on a recent Saturday, our city of Lula, as well as other towns in the area, was busy preparing annual Christmas celebration festivities on Dec. 6. Our mayor and council had voted to purchase new (and much needed) Christmas lights and decorations for the town. Local churches and businesses were setting up their tents in the veterans park downtown, including a live nativity scene, free refreshments and treats, plus Christmas music.
