Your Views: Congratulations and thanks to Judge Carden on retirement

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to congratulate Northeastern Judicial Circuit Juvenile Court Judge Mary R. Carden on her upcoming retirement next month and thank her for her 16 years of judicial service and nearly four decades as an active member of the State Bar. Georgia’s legal community will also have a void to fill when Judge Carden simultaneously steps down from the statewide Judicial Evaluation Committee, which advises the president of the State Bar with regard to the qualifications of all candidates for appointment to the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, Superior Courts, State Courts and other courts of Georgia for the purpose of assisting the Judicial Nominating Commission. All Georgia lawyers and judges can be inspired by the career-long commitment of Judge Carden to fulfill the public service responsibilities of State Bar members, which in turn helps uphold the rule of law and the constitutional values of our state.
