It's obvious that Newt Gingrich has made a deal with Rick Perry. Newt promised Perry that Perry would go down in history if he would drop out and endorse Gingrich.
Here's the deal: When Newt is elected, he will appoint Perry as Secretary of Lunar Colony Food Supply. Perry creates thousands of jobs for Texas cowboys raising great numbers of Texas longhorn cattle.
The cattle will be sent to an Earth-orbiting space station where they are processed for a one-way trip to the moon to support the beef demand for the lunar colony.
Perry will forever be remembered by historians as the engineer of "The herd shot 'round the world."
