I watched the news and read the account of how our Congress has finally agreed on a solution to our national budget and heard our president give his assessment of the whole process to which, of course, he took no active part except to claim all the bows.
I'm disappointed at the weak performance of our newly elected Republicans for what I perceive as a highly disorganized body of public servants. They can't seem to agree on so many issues. I pray they can get their act together as to a viable candidate to oppose Obama before the 2012 elections roll around.
If not, our nation will have to endure four more years of a spineless, incompetent ideologue in the White House and that would be terminal for our nation. The incessant "bickering" and "finger-pointing" has grown tiresome.
At a time when America desperately needs a strong competent leader, there doesn't seem to be one around.
Obama said in Monday's Times that our wealthy and our corporations should forgo all tax loopholes and pay their "fair share" of the tax burden. Tell that to the CEO of G.E. who now sits on your budget crisis board, Mr. Obama. Your hypocrisy knows no bounds.
I pray that the Americans will vote this guy and his cronies out of office in 2010.
