Letter: Tax cuts won’t lead to prosperity, just add to deficit
Taxes

No tax cut. Pretending that lower tax rates will lead to higher revenues didn’t work the last two times we tried it, and making that tired claim again is willful self delusion. With our severe budget deficit and high national debt, it would be criminally irresponsible to reduce federal revenues.

The only responsible course is to rein in spending and plug tax loopholes until the debt is reduced. If we don’t do this we will follow the other nations that have ruined their economies with deficit spending. I offer Greece, Argentina and Venezuela as examples. There are many others.
