Regarding the letter “Critical Race Theory is what’s racist,” I would urge anyone who is interested in a deeper understanding of this academic theory to please reference the American Bar Associations page regarding the subject.
CRT is the practice of integrating race and racism in society. CRT critiques how the social construction of race and institutionalized racism perpetuate a racial caste system and recognizes that racism is not a bygone relic of the past. Instead, it acknowledges that the legacy of slavery, segregation and the imposition of second-class citizenship on Black Americans and other people of color continue to permeate the social fabric of this nation.
Mr. Biggs acknowledges this in his closing paragraph; “Racism is unlikely to vanish from this sinful earth.” How poetic!
I would also urge anyone who confuses a statement of fact like “Black lives matter” with an ideology or organization to please consider what “make America great again” really means to at least 50 million Americans.
