There are a lot of good reasons to vote “yes” to extend the special purpose local option sales tax for education for another five years.

It has reduced millions of dollars of debt for our local school systems. It has helped roll back the education portion of our property taxes. It has built new schools. It has repaired and renovated older schools. It has paid for laptops and computers. And it will continue to strengthen our schools.

But for me, the real reason to support E-SPLOST is to show our children and youth that we believe in providing them with the very best education possible. And that’s exactly what E-SPLOST is all about.
