A Rabun County woman was killed Tuesday in a two-car wreck in Lula, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

MaryEllen Maznicki, 64, of Lakemont, was thrown from her Jeep Grand Cherokee in the wreck at Ga. 365 northbound and Athens Street.

GSP said a Buick Park Avenue driven by Jerry McKee, 17, of Gainesville, was trying to pull onto Ga. 365 from Athens Street when he failed to yield the right of way and struck Maznicki’s vehicle, which overturned.

McKee and a passenger, Austin Smith, 17, of Gainesville, weren’t injured in the wreck, which happened at 5:41 p.m., according to GSP.

No charges have been filed, but the investigation is ongoing.

The GSP Specialized Reconstruction Team is working the wreck.
