A woman shot herself in the foot 11 a.m. today outside her home on the 3300 block of Clark’s Bridge Road. The incident happened when the 30-year-old female resident went outside her home to investigate what she believed sounded like her animals. She took a handgun to defend herself if attacked. But the gun fired when she slipped and fell outside the home, the woman told Hall County Sheriff’s Office deputies. She was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where she is being treated for minor injuries. No charges are pending, however, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Col. Jeff Strickland said the incident remains under investigation.
