Gainesville’s Action Ministries and Amerigroup Community Care are teaming up to host a winter wonderland event from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Lakeshore Mall.

The free event will give winter gifts such as coats, hats and gloves to children on a first-come, first-served basis. Also, the first 150 children will get free books.

The opportunity to visit with Santa, plus food, entertainment, games and giveaways will also be part of the event.

Adults will be able to look at health information and learn about services provided by Amerigroup. The group “offers real solutions that improve healthcare access and quality for our members, while proactively working to reduce the overall cost of care to taxpayers,” according to its website.
