A week after snow, ice and sleet fell over North Georgia, parks around Gainesville were filled with people of all ages Saturday, running, relaxing and playing in the warm sun. Blair Tucker, a Gainesville native, visited Wilshire Park with her friends Hollei and Alexis Dubnik on Saturday to climb the jungle gym and swing from the monkey bars with 4-year old Alexis. Tucker said that they had been puzzled by the warm weather all day, but that they had come out to enjoy temperatures that are expected to reach 70 degrees today.
