A veterans benefits fair sponsored by U.S. Rep. Doug Collins, R-Gainesville, is set for Monday at Spout Springs Library, 6488 Spout Springs Road, Flowery Branch.

The event will take place from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Veterans can meet with constituent service representatives with Collins’ office and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to get help concerning VA compensation, vocational rehabilitation, education and treatment at the Atlanta VA Medical Center.

Also, veterans can learn more about the Georgia National Cemetery in Cherokee County.

Collins’ office is holding another veterans fair this Wednesday in Hartwell.

The fairs are held once a year “to provide folks an opportunity to come in and engage with our staff and VA officials directly,” Collins said.

“We need to serve those who have served us, and make sure that they have all of the benefits that they have earned by fighting for our country,” he said.

In the past year, Collins’ office has handled some 500 VA cases.

“We want people to know that we can be a resource if they are having trouble,” the congressman said.
