Cameron Eugene Sherman and Jessica Lynn Jarrard are charged with concealing a death and tampering with evidence.

Two people have been charged with concealing a death and tampering with evidence in the case of a man found in the Northeast Georgia Medical Center parking lot and declared dead inside the hospital, police said.

Jessica Lynn Jarrard, 31, of Alto, and Cameron Eugene Sherman, 31, of Flowery Branch, were charged Thursday, Aug. 8. Sherman was already in the Habersham County Jail and has a hold for Hall County.

Gainesville Police responded around 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 17, to the Spring Street parking lot near the hospital regarding a possible overdose.

“Once on scene, officers found hospital staff rendering aid to a male on the ground next to a white pick-up truck,” Cpl. Jessica Van wrote in a news release at the time.

The man, later identified as Christopher Michael Wethington, 28, was moved shortly after into the hospital, where he was declared dead.

According to the warrants, the two suspects are accused of knowingly concealing Wethington’s death “thus hindering the investigation of the nature of his death.”

On the tampering with evidence charge, the warrant alleged the two suspects “did knowingly alter, conceal and disguise physical evidence” of his death “by assisting with the transport of the body of Wethington to a parking lot away from the location of his death.”
