Northeast Georgia Medical Center will be honoring those touched by lung cancer at an event Tuesday evening at the Gainesville hospital.

The disease kills more people than colon, breast and prostate cancers combined, according to a news release from the hospital. In 2014, it killed 267 in the Northeast Georgia area.

People will gather at 5:45 p.m. at the hospital’s old surgery pavilion waiting area, where the North and South Towers come together to the right of the ambulance dock.

Martha Zoller will share her family story of lung cancer and candles will be lit in honor of lung cancer survivors and their loved ones.
