Thompson Bridge area gets brighter as LED light conversion begins in Gainesville

Georgia Power has begun converting roadway lighting to new brighter and more energy-efficient LED lighting, specifically in the area of Thompson Bridge Road.

Some 336 new lights have been installed of the total 1,799 the company plans to change in the city.

Three crews are working in a project area along Thompson Bridge Road. The overall project includes converting lights throughout most of Gainesville.

Another 850 lights will be converted in Hall County.
