Oakwood City Council gave its final OK on Monday night to annexing 71.45 undeveloped acres in the Tanners Creek Business Park.

Most of the property is being designated as light industrial. A couple of tracts, particularly a 20-acre plot at 4177 Thurmon Tanner Parkway, facing Interstate 985, will enter the city with agricultural zoning.

The property owners are Chattahoochee Parks Inc., Tanners Creek Development LLC, Tanners Creek Owners Association LLC and Scientific Ventures Inc.

Tanners Creek was developed off Thurmon Tanner, which runs between Oakwood and Flowery Branch and travels parallel to I-985.

The business park contains 150 acres overall between H.F. Reed Industrial Boulevard, where a new Exit 14 off I-985 is planned, and Chamblee Road, according to its website.

The city previously annexed 30-plus acres in the area, including a site where a new U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ outpatient clinic is being built.
