Two Hall County school buses carrying students had a minor collision in the parking lot of Lanier Elementary after school Thursday.

Hall County schools spokesman Gordon Higgins said the approximately 90 students on the buses were unharmed. An ambulance was called as a precaution. Two additional buses were summoned and took students home, he said.

“Everyone is safe, and the children were taken off the buses,” he said. “As a precaution, we called a med unit to make sure all the kids were OK. Several of the kids complained that their heads were hurting. ... We think some of the students who were complaining their head hurt may have hit their heads on the back of the seat in front of them.”

Students waited inside Lanier Elementary to receive medical review and were taken home once medics confirmed they sustained no injuries, Higgins said.

It is not yet clear how one bus hit the other.

“They’re still investigating it to see exactly how that happened,” Higgins said.
