A woman suffered severe injuries Wednesday morning in a car accident in South Hall County.

Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell said a call came in at 7:55 a.m. about a passenger car that left the roadway.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, Brock James Lobner, 22, of Buford attempted to turn from Windgate Drive onto Friendship Road when his 1999 Saturn hit the right rear end of a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu.

The Malibu, driven by Emily Mathis, 28, of Sugar Hill, then left the roadway and struck several trees.

When EMS arrived, Mathis was trapped in the vehicle.
"She had a lot of broken bones and internal injuries," Kimbrell said.

She was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

The Georgia State Patrol is still investigating the accident.
