A 19-year-old man was in stable condition late Monday after being shot in the abdomen at his South Hall home earlier in the day.
Jerrod Turner was flown by helicopter to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta after the incident, which took place in the 5700 block of Hickory Lane in the Countryside Mobile Home Park.
He was "conscious and alert on the scene," said Col. Jeff Strickland, spokesman for the Hall County Sheriff's Office.
The mobile home park is off Lanier Islands Parkway near Interstate 985.
The home is off Willow Way and Whispering Pines, which is the main road through the park.
"The (case) is still under investigation until we can talk with the victim and hear what he says happened," Strickland said.
Turner went into surgery after arriving at Grady and was recovering later in the day.
His girlfriend, who was in the home at the time of the shooting, called 911 and reported the incident just after 8 a.m., he added.
Other details weren't available Monday.
The shooting followed what was a quiet Thanksgiving holiday. Area authorities reported a quiet few days at homes and on the roads, responding to minor wrecks and other incidents.
