Winter still isn’t through with North Georgia.

After several days of 50-degree weather and clear skies, rain is returning to the area with a slight chance of snow before 1 p.m. today.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a 60 percent chance of precipitation, including rain and snow, today in Gainesville. After 1 p.m., the weather service expects the moisture to solely be rain. Today's high is expected to be 45.

North of Hall County, in the mountains there could be a dusting of snow, but surface temperatures will remain in the mid to upper 30s this morning.

The weather agency predicts the rain will taper off this afternoon, leaving gusts of wind as high as 25 mph.

After today’s precipitation, temperatures are expected to stay in the mid-40s until Saturday, with the days warming up a bit to the low-50s with partly sunny skies. North Georgia’s next chance for rain will be Monday, the weather service said.
