An adult man was shot in the stomach by another man Sunday morning in what Gainesville police are saying “was not a random crime.”

The incident took place at 7:30 a.m. inside an apartment at Lenox Park Apartments, authorities said.

The man was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville, where he was in stable condition with injuries that aren’t life-threatening, police spokesman Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said.

The alleged shooter and victim “were known to each other,” he said.

Other details, including names and the status of the shooter, weren’t immediately available.
