The Hall County Sheriff's Office is investigating a Monday night armed robbery at a Golden Pantry convenience store in South Hall.

Deputies responded at 11:30 p.m. to the business in the 4900 block of Winder Highway.

Upon arrival, they learned that a store employee was closing the business for the night when she was approached by a man wearing dark clothing and holding a gun.

"The victim was ordered back into the store, where the suspect stole an undisclosed amount of money and approximately $400 worth of tobacco products," said Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks, sheriff's office spokesman.

The suspect then ran toward Tanners Mill Road.

A sheriff's office K-9 team was called to the scene to look for the suspect. A small amount of change was found and returned to the store.
