Registration has begun for Gainesville's Citizens' Government Academy.

The free nine-week session runs March 12 to May 14, with classes meeting 6-9 p.m. Mondays at various city facilities.

"We want the classes to be interesting and give the students one-on-one time from the shooting range at the Police Department to the driving range at the golf course," City Manager Kip Padgett said.

Applicants must be 21 and residents of the United States.
