More than 42,000 gallons of sewage spilled Friday, July 16, in Braselton, according to authorities.

The city sent a notice Tuesday, July 20, of the spill at Ga. 211 near the bridge north of Tuscany Drive into Duncan Creek. City officials said the flow was diverted until the repairs were completed, and lime has been spread on the affected area.

Testing of water both up and downstream is ongoing, the city said.
