Gainesville and Hall County governments now are distributing free prescription drug discount cards, sponsored by the National Association of Counties.
The cards are available to anyone, with no eligibility requirements. They are accepted at all pharmacies in Hall and at more than 57,000 pharmacies nationwide.
Consumers typically can save about 20 percent on most prescription drugs. But the cards, administered by Caremark Rx, cannot be used in combination with any other drug discount program.
Within the next two weeks, about 20,000 cards, printed in both English and Spanish, will be made available at the Gainesville-Hall County Community Service Center and at most other local government offices.
For more information, call the Hall County Commission at 770-535-8288 or Caremark at 877-321-2652.
