Expect traffic delays along Jesse Jewell Parkway, Gainesville Police advised this afternoon, as a major power outage around 4:45 p.m. has caused slow downs at most intersections.

Police spokesman Kevin Holbrook said outages include sections of Jesse Jewell Parkway from Atlanta Highway past the city limits.

"Right now, patrol officers are monitoring each (intersection) to make sure traffic is flowing properly at four-way stops," he said. "They'll direct traffic as necessary."

Georgia Power is aware of the situation, Holbrook said.
