A Division of Family and Children Services official said the plan to expand and renovate its Hall County office on McEver Road will increase lobby space, among other improvements.
The expansion would take over part of the current parking lot, according to the agenda request.

Ravae Graham, the deputy director of communications for the Department of Human Services’ legislative and governmental affairs, said the goal is for “a better customer experience for those that we serve.”
“The (12,000)-square-foot expansion is really just to get a new lobby to increase capacity to serve customers,” Graham said.
People applying for aid through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Child Care and Parent Services and other programs can apply online or at the local office.
McEver Extension Properties LLC is listed as the applicant in planning board documents.
Graham said the training areas and storage areas of the facility would also be expanded, in addition to some general renovations. She did not have a timetable for the project.
The expansion would take the property from 24,150 square feet to 36,277 square feet.
Hall County DFCS is located at 970 McEver Road.
