A College Park man is accused of holding a man at gunpoint and taking his 1994 Buick Century and another man’s belt and cellphone, according to Gainesville Police.

Eric Socoree Crawford, 23, was arrested and charged with armed robbery for an alleged carjacking July 5. The incident allegedly took place in the 1000 block of Norton Drive in Gainesville.

“Investigation shows that Crawford used a handgun during the robbery and various items were stolen in the incident,” said Gainesville Police Lt. Kevin Gaddis.

The gun allegedly used was a revolver, and Crawford was charged for possession of a gun by a felon.

Crawford is also accused of taking a second man’s belt and cellphone, according to the warrants.

Neither man was injured.

The Buick was found in College Park, where Crawford was accused of another crime, Gaddis said.

“Crawford (had) been in the Fulton County Jail for some time waiting to be transferred to Hall County,” he said.

The warrants for Crawford’s arrests were signed on Aug. 20 and Aug. 31. Crawford was booked Sept. 1 into the Hall County Jail, where he remains.
