Four people, including three juveniles, were charged with burglary after Gainesville police caught them in the Chestatee Road area after a brief foot chase Thursday.

Lt. Carol Martin said Friday that police were called to a Chestatee Road home about 1:30 p.m. Thursday for a report of suspicious people in the area.

When police arrived, three men were seen running behind a home. After a short chase, the suspects were caught by police. A few minutes later, a fourth suspect was arrested by police at Longwood Park.

A search of the area turned up a flat-screen television hidden in some woods, Martin said. Police determined that a home on Piedmont Road was burglarized.

Other stolen property recovered by police included coins and a pocket knife.

Josue Gurreo, 17, was charged with burglary. Three male teenagers, ages 14, 15 and 16, were also charged with burglary. Their names were not released by police because of their ages.

The Chestatee Road area has been one of several in-town neighborhoods that has seen an increase in burglaries in recent months.

It was the third arrest of multiple burglary suspects made by Gainesville police in the past month.
