Hall County Planning Commission

When: 5:15 p.m. Monday
Where: Hall County Government Center, 2875 Browns Bridge Road, Gainesville

Two subdivisions near Lake Lanier, one on the north end and one on the south end of Hall County, and expansion plans for Buford Corn Maze will likely make for a busy meeting of the Hall County Planning Commission tonight.

The two subdivision plans are recommended for approval with conditions.

The subdivision on Buffington Farm Road in North Hall would include 166 lots. And one on Conner Road in South Hall would include 56 lots. Both proposals are for homes at least 2,000 square feet and on lots of at least 7,000 square feet, though the South Hall development requires 7,200 square feet.

The Buffington Farm Road proposal was on the commission’s agendas in January and February and was tabled twice.

Buford Corn Maze, a seasonal attraction, may expand its business to include a music venue, mountain bike racing and farmers market, along with corporate events, weddings and birthday parties.

The plans require amending a special license approved in 2012 for the business on Bennett Road.

The planning commission will meet at 5:15 p.m. in the second floor meeting room of the Hall County Government Center, 2875 Browns Bridge Road, Gainesville.
