John Misner will become dean of Piedmont College’s Walker School of Business this month.

Misner will replace Bill Piper, who helped create the business school in 2000 and retired in June.

Misner comes to Piedmont College from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania, where he served as a professor of finance and assistant chairman of the business school.

The new dean said he wants to expand the college’s contacts with local business leaders and chambers of commerce, according to the Piedmont news release.

"When people in Northeast Georgia think business, we want them to think of Piedmont College," Misner said.

Piedmont College is a private, liberal arts institution located in Demorest.
