Overnight closures on Jesse Jewell to change
Placeholder Image

Jesse Jewell Parkway closures planned for this week have changed slightly.

The road will close completely at 1 a.m. Thursday, following the outside westbound lane closing at 10 p.m.

Previously just the outside westbound lane was to close for the night.

Workers will be setting beams on the Georgia Mountains Center side of the road for the pedestrian bridge that will span Jesse Jewell.

The work will probably take several hours, project manager Barclay Fouts has said.

The road will close again at 10 p.m. Monday until 5 a.m. Tuesday as the main beam is set across Jesse Jewell.
