There’s a growing movement afoot to stamp out a Gainesville road project that, city officials say, is far from being a serious proposal. Residents have been recently protesting a road widening between Enota Avenue and South Enota Drive — a project that came to light last year, when officials began seeking a state grant to help with preliminary engineering. The latest salvo came Thursday, when the citizens advisory committee for Hall’s lead transportation planning agency, Gainesville-Hall Metropolitan Planning Organization, voted to recommend that, according to the motion, Gainesville “look for alternate routes that do not include Enota Avenue.”
