One person qualified Monday to run for one of Clermont’s two vacant Town Council seats.

Doug Myers turned in paperwork for the seat vacated by former Ward 2 Councilman John Brady, whose term ended Dec. 31.

Qualifying continues through Wednesday to replace Brady and Joe McGoogan, who died two days after winning the Nov. 3 election to fill an at-large seat.

Interested candidates need to turn in paperwork from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 1:30-4:30 p.m. at Town Hall, 109 King St.

The fee for both seats is $43.20.

Voting will take place 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 1 at Clermont Chattahoochee Center, 639 Main St.

The Ward 2 term would begin March 7 and end Dec. 31, 2019. The at-large term would begin March 7 and end Dec. 31, 2017.
