A fire damaged a home in the 1200 block of East Ridge Road on Friday morning in Gainesville, according to Hall County Fire Services.

Firefighters responded to the blaze, finding light smoke billowing out of the two-story house. Crews put out the fire and were checking for hotspots.

The residents were home at the time of the fire, but no one was injured, Hall County Fire Services Capt. Zachary Brackett said in a news release. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the family.

The fire was contained to a bedroom in the 2,000-square-foot home. An adjacent bedroom suffered minor smoke and water damage.

The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation.
