Investigators are following up on leads but have not located any suspects in a shooting that injured a man Thursday evening in Gainesville.

The incident happened at a residence in the 300 block of West Avenue, and police spokesman Cpl. Kevin Holbrook said police believe the suspect or suspects left there in a vehicle. Officers and police dogs searched the area until about midnight.

Police are releasing few details on a possible motive or any identities.

The victim, who was shot in the abdomen, was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center and has undergone surgery. Holbrook did not have an update on his condition Friday.
