Newsmaker in business: Peach State Bank adds 3 to its Community Development board

Peach State Bank & Trust has named local business professionals Preston Bowen, Sandy Carter and Elizabeth Jacobs Higgins to the bank’s Community Development Board, which is responsible for keeping the bank abreast of local business and community trends.

Bowen is co-owner of Lanier Cold Storage. He is an active board member with the Hospital Authority of Hall County and the Northeast Georgia Health System.

Carter is a former commercial banker in Atlanta and Gainesville and works with Don Carter Realty as a real estate specialist. She is a longtime volunteer in local schools and the arts.

Higgins is a Gainesville native and the executive director of Vision 2030, a community planning project of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce. The Hall County native serves on the board of directors for United Way of Hall County.

Peach State Bancshares Inc. is based at 325 Washington St., Gainesville, and parent company of Peach State Bank & Trust.
