A mobile home was destroyed in East Hall County late Thursday night.
Neighbors reported hearing a series of explosions, and when firefighters arrived, about 70 percent of a doublewide home was showing heavy fire, according to Deputy Fire Chief Chad Black. No injuries were reported.
Firefighters were called just before 11 p.m. to 7684 Poole Circle near Alto and were unable to search the home or attack the fire from the inside due to the heavy flames. They worked from the exterior to contain and knock down the fire.
“The cause was determined to be a gas leak from a fault valve, and the gas accumulated and ignited,” Black said.
The structure is a total loss.
