A motorcycle rider was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center early Saturday, Aug. 18, with serious injuries after an accident on Candler Road.

Jerry Joslyn, 63, of Alto, was traveling southbound on a Honda motorcycle a little before 6 a.m. when Tbyirus Garnder, 28, of Gainesville, who was traveling northbound in his Audi passenger car, turned left onto the Interstate 985 entrance ramp.

Cpl. Luke Mize with Georgia State Patrol said Garnder failed to yield and collided with the motorcycle.

Garnder was not injured in the accident and was cited for failure to yield.
