Suspect in custody

A man was found with multiple gunshot wounds Sunday, Feb. 10, at the Gainesville Highway QuikTrip in Buford and was pronounced dead at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, according to authorities. A suspect is in custody.

Hall County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded around 1:15 a.m. Sunday regarding a shooting at the gas station near the Gwinnett County line.

“The victim and a female companion had stopped at the business when another male subject approached and fired into the vehicle, striking the victim. The shooter fled the scene before deputies arrived,” Lt. Chris Dale wrote in a news release.

Dale said the shooter was later taken into custody at his Canton home, adding that the suspect was known to the woman in the case.

The woman was not injured.
