Two Hispanic males robbed a man at knifepoint overnight Tuesday outside Panera Bread on Dawsonville Highway, according to Gainesville police.

Officers and fire department personnel responded at about 1 a.m. Wednesday to the robbery. Cpl. Kevin Holbrook said the suspects approached the 25-year-old victim, telling him to give them money, and there was an altercation between the victim and the suspects.

The victim received minor injuries to his face and arms, Holbrook said.

“Then the victim stated that the subjects took off on foot and he noticed that his vehicle was on fire,” Holbrook said.

The suspects are described as being about 6 feet tall and 215 pounds. Holbrook said investigators are unsure whether the case is related to one today involving an armed robbery that ended in a shooting on Industrial Drive.
